Goof Around

While waiting for Rb and papa to arrive at our void deck after last Tuesday evening (after Rb's phonics class), pb and I goof around with my iPhone camera. People always say that Pb looks a lot like me, my face and my smile but deep down inside, I know that she's much better looking than me. She has inherited her papa's pinkish skin, rosy cheeks and big bright eyes. I'm v happy that she's an improved version of me. Thank God! Praise God!! :) and also thank gong gong mama for supplying threadfin fish every day!! :)

Reuben's Academic Progress

I must say that Reuben is a little faster than his peers in terms of his academic progression. At 4 years old, he is able to read simple readers and do addition and subtractions within 10. Not only is he able to do it, he also enjoys doing homework and reading books. Whenever Pb is doing her homework, Rb also wants to join his sister in doing his "fun" books.

The only worrisome thing is that he has no interest in Chinese. When I try to speak Mandarin to him, he would tell me not to speak Mandarin. He said that he's an English, not a Chinese. Sounds familiar? Pb used to say that when she was young too! :)

To deal with this potential escalating problem, we engaged Wei Han Lao Shi to teach Rb Chinese. Rb has his Chinese class with Jonas. Initially he resisted the Chinese class but now, not anymore. I hope Rb will catch up with his peers in communicating in Mandarin :)

Who's Looking at My Butt :)

Yiyi bought these cute Angry Birds briefs for Rb in her recent trip to Bangkok, knowing that he loves Angry Birds. She also bought cute elephant keychains from Bangkok for Pb to bring to school on her birthday so that she can give them to her friends. Such are the gestures from Yiyi to show that she loves them! I hope the children will not forget yiyi's kindness and will learn to reciprocate when they're older :)

Racial Harmony 2012

This year's Racial Harmony Day, both Phoebe & Reuben wore their costumes excitedly. As Rb did not like Chinese costume all along, we did not buy it for him during Chinese New Year. Hence I had to borrow a set and Wei Han Lao Shi was very kind to lend it to us! Initially, he rejected wearing costume but because of his love for Kingfu Panda, he was willing to be clad in it, just to be like his idol :) he even posed a few stunts for photography :)

Pb loves her Vietnamese costume given by Aunty Shirley and Uncle Terence. Although she has wore that last year, she still chose it over her Nyonya suit. Thank God that the Vietnamese costume still fitted her well! She looked very sweet and demure in it :)

Grandma thought that her precious grandchildren looked really cute and could not resist taking pictures with them :) My 2 precious ones, whatever they wear, they will still look nice! :)

Bye Bye Casa Italy Sofa

After about 11 years, we are going to say bye bye to our sofa. I would say that it has served us well though it's very soft and saggy now. Today we went to Lorenzo to buy a new sofa. Initially, we wanted to buy a fabric one but the choice was limited. After looking around, we decided to get full leather sofa again but grey this time. Something less dull. It'll only arrive a month later. So in the meantime, the children can step and jump on it for as much and as long as they like! :)

Excursion to Gardenasia @ Kranji

Rb went with his school to Gardenasia @ Kranji. Though I'm not sure where it is, I know Rb had a good time. They learn about caring for plants and the parts of the plants. He could point out the roots and leaves to me. And told me not to water too much or too little water. It must be just right :)

He told me the steps to create this plant :
1) Write his name on the pot
2) Put in the soil
3) Put in the plant
4) Put in more soil
5) Put in the decorations

And that's it! :)

Active learning, that's what I like! That's what the children like too! :)

Pictures like these melt my heart! I pray that they will always be close to each other all the days of their lives!!

Creative Rb

I would say that Rb is rather creative! He drew this racing track for his Lightening McQueen and he even drew supporters for the race! :) This boy really loves his red car :)

A Cool Family

We're a cool family! :) All of us have our own shades. All UV 400 :) even our Angry Birds wear shades! They're bought by Yiyi in Bangkok for Rb coz Yiyi knows that Rb loves Angry Birds :)
