Friend or Foe

The day has come... Sigh... Blame it on genes, reading books and playing iPhone! He's so excited and happy now but after one week, reality will set in... Hahaha... Guess which one did he select? :)

2016 SYF String

It was Rb's first experience in SYF and unlike Pb, he'll probably have 2 more chances to experience in the competition before he graduates from primary school.

The boys had been practising hard, everyday during the March holidays and more intensively towards the last few weeks nearer the competition. I was v amazed by their commitment, discipline and dedication. They practised for long hours, trying their best to perfect every note, every tune, every rhythm and dynamics. However, never have I once hear any of the string boys complain or sigh. From a group of boisterous, rambunctious boys, these boys displayed their faithfulness and perseverance in their training. They respected their conductor, Mr Meryvn Goh and cooperated with him in meeting his high standard and demand, all because everyone wanted to do well.

On the day of the competition, all the string parents came to support. Before the competition, the boys composed themselves and an elder came to pray with the boys. All that they needed to do, they've already done but nothing will be right without the power and favour of God. The boys prayed and said Amen for the will of God to be done.

After the performance of the 2 pieces, Danse Infernale and Andadate Con Moto, the applause from the audience was thunderous. In my heart, I know, the boys have aced it! I know what the results will be even before it was published on 18 April 2016.

I pray that the boys will continue to be fervent in their practices, be serious in their calling, to be worshippers of God. Indeed, The Best Is Yet To Be!

2016 SYF Choir

This year is the year of SYF competition! So you can imagine how extra busy Pb and Rb have been. They had many practices and the whole March holiday was burnt but I've always encourage my children to participate in group CCAs because I used to be in the concert band, so I understand the tremendous joy I had with my team members, building up the spirit of commeradarie, learning to work together as a group and fine-tuning social skills. Thus when the 2 were choosing CCAs, I proposed choir and strings to them and it was great that they were agreeable and had enjoyed their CCAs v much even though they had lots of practices. They have never complained and looked forward to going for their CCAs.

For SYF, I was quite sad and disappointed that I couldn't go and witness Pb singing because of my work commitment and my school had to conduct the e-oral exam as arranged by SEAB for that week. I'm thankful that Papa was able to go to SOTA to show his support and encouragement to Pb. I know it means a lot to Pb, to celebrate each milestone. This will be her only SYF in Primary school years and I'm glad that we are able to go through it with her :)

Just 2 more days, the results for 2016 SYF will be released! I wish PLMGS all the v v best and whatever the result may be, to God be the glory!

**Update: PLMGS Primary has obtained a DISTINCTION for the 2016 SYF Choir competition! Praise God! His love endures forever!! :)

RAD Grade 4 Exam

Slowly and surely, she can make it to the higher grade... As long as she's enjoying it, I've no grouses :) I'm v proud of this wonderful daughter of mine. She's v sensible, and has v high EQ. When she speaks, she will weigh her words carefully. I thank God for this lovely girl, thank God for nurturing her, growing up in grace! :)
