Universal Studio After Hours

There was a promotion in Universal Studio called "Hollywood After Hours" , whereby on Friday and Saturday evenings after 7 p.m, you can enter the Universal Studio for just $5. Children under 4 are free. Only the front section of the park will be opened. The rides will not be operating, but the shops and restaurants will be open for business.

We took this opportunity to visit the Universal Studio. We walked around, took some shots, had our dinner in one of the restaurant called "Loui's Pizza and Pasta" and shopped in the souvenir shops. We didn't buy anything because nothing caught our eyes. At 10 p.m., there was a "Lake Hollywood Spectacular" fireworks display. We had a good spot to view the fireworks but we did not realise that our good spot was going to be thundering for the children too. They were frightened by the loud fireworks. Phoebe burst into tears when the fireworks display started and papa quickly carried her. Reuben buried his face on Aunty Nia's shoulders.

When the display was over, Reuben clapped his hands and said, "Finished!" Haha. Nevertheless, I thought it was quite worthwhile and we had an enjoyable evening.

Sister's Passport

Recently, we went on a day trip (on 8 August) to Johor Bahru for shopping. It was a fun trip. Phoebe took her favourite toy rabbit along. She has been calling her toy rabbit "Sister". I sewn it (only the words on the bib) for Phoebe when I was conceiving her. So it was my first present to her.

We went by the second link and there were not much jam. At the custom, we had to wind down our car window and let the custom officer match our faces to the pictures on our passports. Phoebe held out her "sister" for the custom officer. That gave me an idea and I told her that we would make a "passport" for Sister when we get back.

When we got home, I showed her how a real Singapore passport looked like and we tried to make one ourselves for Sister. We role-played and pretended to be custom officers. We used our stamps to stamp on Sister's passport. We also brought it to our friend's place on National Day to pretend that we were in overseas and I told my friend to pretend to be the custom officer and stamp on Sister's passport. It was fun and my friend's children also role-played.

So here it is, Sister's personal passport.

I've asked Phoebe what were the information that she deemed suitable to be included in her sister's passport and these were the fields that Phoebe wanted to include to describe her sister's background.

Knee Caps for Buzz Lightyear

Phoebe had a bad fall on the rough road on Saturday. She was playing and running with a friend's son, then she tripped and fell. Her knees were badly scratched. It was very painful for her and she cried/screamed very loudly in the car. Reuben, sitting beside her, told her, "Jie jie no cry." And he wanted to use tissue paper to clean her wounds. So sweet!

Back home, washing her wounds were a torture for her and my ears. The wounds were quite serious and there were sticky discharge. I made plastic protection for her so that her wounds can "breathe" and dry up quickly. But this morning, she went to school with plasters. Phoebe calls these plastic protections as Knee Caps and I told her to wear the Knee Caps at home only. Aunty Nia calls Phoebe "Buzz Lightyear". Haha. Hopefully, the wounds will dry up quickly.

Handsome Boy and Pretty Girl

I love this picture of Reuben. I think he is getting more handsome and cool each day.
He is the pride of his mommy.

Thank you Aunty KF for giving Reuben such a nice polo T which makes him look so handsome! :)

I love this picture of Phoebe. I think she is getting sweeter and prettier each day. Haha.
She is the pride of her mommy.

Thank you Aunty Teresa for organising such a fun-filled birthday party for the children! :)

Thank you God for blessing us with such beautiful children!

National Day 2010

This year's National Day, I was sad because I did not get to send my children to school. I did not get to see them wearing our national colours, Red and White because my school was running on single session on that day. All the P1-P6 pupils were in school from 7.30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Phoebe's school hours was 8.15 - 10.30 a.m. that morning and Reuben's was 10.15 - 11.15 a.m. Phoebe's papa took her to take the school bus. This was the only picture that he had taken for her. Reuben had none because when he had woken up, papa had already gone to work and grandma came to pick him up to school, together with Auntie Nia. So Reuben did not have his picture taken. Hopefully, next year I will not miss watching my children celebrating our nation's birthday.

Princess Tegan's Party

We went for a birthday party of a little girl, Princess Tegan. She is Teresa's daughter. The party was a lot of fun, packed with activities for children, such as painting fingernails, making a magic wand, pin the tail on the horse, story reading by the princess' daddy (aka the king), decorating cupcakes etc. The children drew pictures on the cemented floor using chalk, which was Phoebe's first time doing it. They even had a throne (with different accessories) for their photo-taking corner! It was a lot of fun. Although we missed some of the activities earlier on (because we were late), Phoebe and Reuben enjoyed themselves very much. :) All the activities were run by Tegan's parents. I think they're simply great! :)

Reuben insisted on wearing the tutu skirt and veil. We teased him that he was trying to shoo away the mosquitoes hovering around him. Haha :)

Yiyi's Birthday

4 August 2010 was Yiyi's 37th birthday. We celebrated her special day with her. Gonggong and Mama bought a Four Leaves strawberry cake for her. We ordered pizzas and spicy chicken wings for dinner. Yiyi loves the cakes from Four Leaves and pizzas from Pizza Hut. We had a good and cosy time feasting together. Phoebe drew Yiyi a birthday card. She did it all by herself. I only helped her to write the date "4 August 2010" and a bit of colouring here and there. It was a nice family time together. :)

MegaBlock Fun

Phoebe has a shop. Reuben has a house. They split the number of characters. The characters can talk. Phoebe has more characters but Reuben has the car. Happily playing. No squabbling.

Phoebe's School Bus

We were playing with the digital camera while waiting for Phoebe's school bus to come. She has been taking school bus since nursery in SKMCC but I have not taken any pictures in this aspect of her life. So when the bus came, I snapped a few pictures of her going up the school bus.
