Family Project

As I was unable to help put physically in the 3-Day church camp because I have to be in school to attend the school workshops and meetings, I decided to help out in the preparation of the goody bags n the top 3 prizes. Initially I've ordered the items from Taobao. However, the shipment was unable to arrive to Singapore in time for the camp. Hence, I've to buy the goody bag items from Singapore itself. I did majority of the buying from the Super Save $ shop in Compass Point. I was very thankful that Papa was very willing to help me in the carrying, delivering and even packing of items for the goody bags and top 3 prizes. I was very touched by his involvement. God indeed changes people and works in mysterious ways. In His time, we are moulded and blossomed in His care. I told Papa that maybe we should make it as a periodical family project as the children were also very willing and glad to be activated to help! They felt that they were useful to be doing an important job :) Papa agreed that it was fun and meaningful that our whole family can serve God in this way. Thank God for giving us this opportunity for our family to bond and serve Him together in this way! :)

3-Day Church Camp

We started the June holiday with a 3-Day church camp for Pb and Rb on 5-7 June 2014. The theme was "Designed to Shine". Both of them enjoyed the camp tremendously. They were in Oreo group and Polky group. Although at the end of the camp, both their groups did not get the top 3 prizes, the 2 of them were not disappointed. They enjoyed the process of playing group games, doing craft work, singing songs, listening to stories and performing together. I truly salute all the helpers and staff of SKMCC who have helped out in the 3-day camp. Their time, effort, energy and commitment were admirable. I pray that they'll have a well-rested June holiday.

Everyday after the camp, Rb would write his daily feedback about the camp in his diary. This was the first time Rb has joined the day camp and he definitely have adjusted well! Not only was he able to eat well by himself, on the second day when he played the water game, he was also able to get changed by himself. Pb was indeed an excellent sister, watching out for Rb all the time. Both of them came back with all their set of wet apparel intact, no one forgot about any items such as wet undergarment etc! Haha.

I thank you God for all these lovely people who have given so much of themselves to put the whole camp together! I thank you God for bring my children's maturity and independence into a greater height!! All glory unto Him always!! :)

3-Day Chinese Camp

Pb didn't do very well for her Chinese in SA1. I was hoping that she'll be able to take part in some fun and stimulating Chinese immersing activities, to learn Chinese in a causal and enjoyable setting. Hence I signed her up for a 3-Day Chinese Camp during the June holidays. Initially I felt that the cost was a little too expensive ($270) but the programme included daily excursion to Hort Park, Infor Comm Centre and Science Centre, the entrance fee, coach fare and insurance. They also provided quite substantial lunch from places such as Mad Jacks, KFC and Yashinoya, though for Pb, she would have appreciated simple chicken rice or fish ball noodle soup! Haha.

The thematic hands on activities were interesting and related to their excursion. The terrarium which Pb had made and the Chinese calligraphy and drawing were part of the highlights. On the last day, the children were taught how to go about presenting a simple skit. I thought the performance was commendable as they had very little time to prepare.

I happened to mention about the camp to 2 of Pb's classmates' mothers and they were excited about it. They too, signed their daughters up for the camp.

Overall, the camp was good and Pb enjoyed herself well though she was recovering from her fever and sore throat. It was not as daunting as she has expected and was glad to be able to join the camp with her friends :)

If I Have An Oven...

...I will be able to bake all the time!! Baking is so easy and the capital is so low :) The satisfaction is fulfilling and the children loves to eat! :) This was baked in Merlot, on a weekday Monday :)

Abby Buddy

Though it was Pb who wanted a dog, I realised that in the end, it was Rb who spent more time with Abby instead of Pb. These 2 love to tease each other, Rb loves to push Abby playfully (though sometimes I've to remind him to be more gentle with her) and Abby on the other hand, likes to pull and tug the hem of Rb's pants if he's wearing a long one :) Rb also loves to carry Abby a lot and he often says, "Hmm... Abby's so cute!! Abi-bi" and yet some days, he'll exclude Abby from the room. Funny children :)

Belated Fathers' Day cum Day Out with Grams

We didn't get to celebrate Fathers' Day on last Sunday with gong gong. Hence today we met up to have a nice lunch at the famous Tim Ho Wan. I'm glad that gong gong and mama enjoyed their lunch. We walked around Plaza Singapura to digest our food.

We bought some T-shirts for Pb from Mothercare since it was having a sale. Pb is already wearing their size 9-10 of the apparel. Very soon, she'll no longer be able to buy clothes from there. What a waste coz I love Mothercare. The clothes are reasonably priced and the quality/ material is good!! Soon I'll have to source for young ladies clothes for my little lady! Time flies!! :)
