God Speaks

I rarely put in the blog what God says to me but this particular chapter in the bible really tugs my heart string. Thank you God for your word!!

James 3:1-18

My brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers. As you know, we teachers will be judged with greater strictness than others. All of us often make mistakes. But if a person never makes a mistake in what he says, he is perfect and is also able to control his whole being. We put a bit into the mouth of a horse to make it obey us, and we are able to make it go where we want. Or think of a ship: big as it is and driven by such strong winds, it can be steered by a very small rudder, and it goes wherever the pilot wants it to go. So it is with the tongue: small as it is, it can boast about great things. Just think how large a forest can be set on fire by a tiny flame! And the tongue is like a fire. It is a world of wrong, occupying its place in our bodies and spreading evil through our whole being. It sets on fire the entire course of our existence with the fire that comes to it from hell itself. Human beings can tame and have tamed all other creatures — wild animals and birds, reptiles and fish. But no one has ever been able to tame the tongue. It is evil and uncontrollable, full of deadly poison. We use it to give thanks to our Lord and Father and also to curse other people, who are created in the likeness of God. Words of thanksgiving and cursing pour out from the same mouth. My brothers and sisters, this should not happen! No spring of water pours out sweet water and bitter water from the same opening. A fig tree, my brothers and sisters, cannot bear olives; a grapevine cannot bear figs, nor can a salty spring produce sweet water. Are there people among you who are wise and understanding? They are to prove it by their good lives, by their good deeds performed with humility and wisdom. But if in your heart you are jealous, bitter, and selfish, don't sin against the truth by boasting of your wisdom. Such wisdom does not come down from heaven; it belongs to the world, it is unspiritual and demonic. Where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is also disorder and every kind of evil. But the wisdom from above is pure first of all; it is also peaceful, gentle, and friendly; it is full of compassion and produces a harvest of good deeds; it is free from prejudice and hypocrisy. And goodness is the harvest that is produced from the seeds the peacemakers plant in peace.

Disappointment

While some people are rejoicing, my heart is grieving... Sadness and disappointment overwhelm me. God, please teach me how to cope with it... :(
But she called me immediately when she got home and asked me where I was, if I have reached school and if I was caught in the rain. Such sensitivity from a young girl :)

God, teach me how to count my blessings...

Best Gift

Pb once borrowed this book from the public library and she loved it v much. She was sad that she had to return that book coz she said this book is really useful as it provides step by step guide to train her "future dog". I promised to look for this book via internet and buy it for her. I did find it but was reluctant to buy coz the book was rather expensive.

When yiyi knew about it, she ordered the book and gave it to Pb on her 8th birthday. What a great surprise Pb had when she saw. he book during her celebration with the grands in Swensons. She exclaimed when she opened the wrapper, "Look mommy!! Yiyi gave me this 101 Dog Tricks book!!!" She loved the book and started reading it. Back home, she still keep saying how surprised and happy she was to receive the book and read pages of the book many times. It was indeed a timely and well-received present and thank you yiyi for your blessings :) God bless you! :)

So loved

My children are sooo loved!!! Thank you v v much, Ms Sally Hoe!! We will always be thankful to you!!!

"It's My Party," says Pb

Pb celebrated her 8th birthday at home. She's at this age where she wants to invite her own friends/classmates and not papa/mommy's friends. So since it is her birthday request, we try to accede to it.

In order to manage better, I restricted to just 11 classmates and 2 of our neighbour's girls. It's an all-girls party... Well, except for one! Haha :)
They ate, watched Tangled movie, did a simple pingpong cup craft, had a mini competition, made tiramisu cake, took poloraid shots, blew bubbles, shot with water gun and dipped in the pool. I think they had a good time... I really hope so.
Made with all my love!

Perseverance

For this year's graduation concert, Rb was not chosen to be the Master of Ceremony (MC). We are disappointed but we truly respect the school's decision of giving other children a chance to speak on the stage, since Rb already had his chance when he was in Nursery. Rb was not given the script, however, we were impressed that he was able to recite the full script, which was meant for 2 boys. I guess he was able to remember the script when he saw his friends practising on the stage. When one of his friends was absent on 2 of the practices, Rb was able to rise to the occasion and step in as a back-up MC. For this, I'm already v thankful and satisfied :) Rb was v happy that his friend had recovered and turned up for the full dressed rehearsal. I asked him if he was upset for not being an MC. He replied, "Of course not mommy! I don't mind at all. Really!"

I was so glad to hear his reply, so honest and magnanimous! I've a lot to learn from this Little boy :) Praise God!! :)

It's My Baby's Birthday

Today is Pb's 8th birthday. I woke up early today to go to school with her. It's also her Math Exam day. I prayed for her that God will guide her through the paper. I also thanked God for seeing Pb through these great 8 years. I know that He will continue to pour out His blessings on this little girl.
Praise God! Phoebe is eight!! :)

Pb Birthday Goody Goodies!

Getting ready for Pb's birthday goody for her friends in her class. Quite an easy and enjoyable task coz everything is pink and all are for girls :) I bought these scrunchies from my recent trip to Bangkok. They are 20 baht each but I've to print the tag and pack by myself, which I love doing it :) For the 4 short hair girls, they get clips :) Pb is sooo looking forward to her school birthday celebration, and so am I. This year, she requested that I go to her school during recess time :) I'm going to ask Mrs Sekar if we can give the girls little cupcakes with no fanciful cream. Will update this page!! :)

Really praise God for watching over this little single kidney Girl for good 8 years and many more years to come :)

Violin Trial Class

We came across Wolfgang at UE Square today and I've been thinking of letting Rb try in the violin since Pb is already learning the piano. The trial class was $50 for regardless of 1/2 kids. Hence I decided to let both have a go since both expressed interest. Now both said that they want to learn. Should I or should I not?? Because this requires commitment and I don't want wastage. Still thinking about it.... Shall seek God to lead the way... :)

PLMGS P1/2 Games Day

It was Pb's school lower primary games day. It was part of Children's Day celebration. Parents are allowed to watch the girls in action. Needless to say, we, being supportive parents, would surely turn up to cheer our girl on, and so did the little brother, who literally cheered loudly for his beloved jie jie! :)
