Lovely Presents

After the party, Phoebe get to open up all her presents before going to bed. She was so excited about opening presents. Who doesn't right ? Previously, I would have volunteered to open for her but because she's 3 now, I let her have the honour. The presents were L-O-V-E-L-Y! I particularly like the one given by Xiao Ci! It's not that I understood what the voice in the jewel box was uttering (it was in Japanese! Haahaa ) I love the wonderful greetings that Xiao Ci has written in her neat little handwriting! She must have put in a lot of effort in writing her well-wishes. How can I let this sincerity slip by ? I whipped out my digicam and took a picture of it for keepsake :)

Thank you all Aunties, Uncles and Phoebe's lil' friends for the lovely, lovely presents and Ang Pao! :) Also, thank you Auntie Kar Keng for making a special trip down in the morning to pass Phoebe a birthday present! So sweet of you! :)

Phoebe's Party

We had never given Phoebe a Birthday party when she was one or two years old because we thought that she was too young to understand what a birthday party is and that would be meaningless to her. Now that she's 3, she will be able to understand the concept of a party and will be able to enjoy herself. On 25 Oct Saturday morning, which was Phoebe's actual birthday, we decorated the place with balloons, streamers, buntings and banners, all in the theme of Barney. Phoebe likes Barney since she was 6 months old. We got her a Baby Bop birthday cake because Baby Bop is forever 3 years old, which coincides with Phoebe's age this year. In the evening at about 6 p.m., all the friends started to stream in. After a simple dinner, we sang the birthday song and had the cake cutting ceremony. Before leaving for home, all the children got their Barney goodie bags, Barney sticker-cum-colouring books and Barney face masks. Phoebe was very happy that day and we want to thank all the aunties, uncles and little friends for celebration this occasion with Phoebe!

Nostalgia

Phoebe has been in Little Learners Playschool since she was 20 months old. She attends it daily for 2 hours per session. She has celebrated her 2nd and 3rd birthday in the same school. When I look back, I'm touched by how much my girl has grown. Her features are more chiselled now, less babyish but more girlish. She has also grown taller and her same set of uniform is tighter now. She's so precious to us. So so bao bei, so so well-loved. She'll always be our precious girl. We love her so so much from the bottom of our heart and we really thank God for this little gift!

She's Learning!

It's only when I'm in Phoebe's playschool last Friday that I've discovered that Phoebe has indeed quite a lot of stuff from her school. She has been reciting a few lines about monkeys climbing on the bed and when I saw the poster on her school wall, then I realised that she was reciting what she remembered from school.

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed.
One fell down and bumped his head.
Mommy told the doctor and the doctor said,
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

One little monkeys jumping...

And it was in school that I witnessed her wearing her own socks and shoes all by herself. When she's home, she prefers Auntie Nia or us to wear them for her. I was very impressed with her blooming independence.

My little girl is not a baby anymore :) Love her nuts! :)

Celebration in School

Phoebe had her 3rd Birthday celebration in her playschool on Friday, 24th Oct, one day before her actual birthday. We got her a small half kg cake for her little friends in Little Learners. Her cake has a picture of a Hello Kitty because her school bag also has a Hello Kitty. She really enjoyed herself. At the end of the session, she helped to give out little goodie bags to her friends :)
