Les Miserables

This afternoon, we deposit the children with their favourite yiyi because she had not seen them for more than a week. Yiyi had brought the children great Christmas presents, which were all the things that they loved and have longed for. They children were very happy and thankful :)

While the children were babysitted by yiyi, we went to the cinema in Downtown East to watch Les Miserables.

Les Miserables was beyond words! What the theatre could not offer (eg the closed up shot), the cinematic effect made up for it. But of course, the live orchestra and singing, theatric acting, costumes and the props movement in the musical are reasons why I still love to go to the theatres.

With the NTUC union card, I was able to get a discount for the movie tickets. I felt that $9.50 is just too cheap a ticket for this movie! It is worth every cent spent! What a luxury treat before the school starts! :)

Pandas (without Mommy)

Here I am, having Staff Meeting and my family in zoo again, visiting the pandas. Feel so sad that I cannot be with them but also glad that the children are meaningfully engaged and having fun. Guess what? They still get their panda toys despite the fact that we tried to avoid buying from that expensive place. Pb said that THAT is going to be her belated Christmas present. Hahaha! How can we beat that! What a clever girl :)

Legoland Malaysia

This holiday, we have been touring around Malaysia quite a lot. After the trip to Genting and Malacca (4-8 Dec), we crossed over to our neighbouring country again on 17 December Monday to visit their latest theme park, Legoland. The drive was only about 15 minutes away from Tuas checkpoint.

Lunch was the first activity we embarked on as it was almost lunch time when we arrived. The queue to purchase the admission tickets was ridiculously long and papa and Uncle Alex had to queue for almost an hour just to get the tickets for the adults. The children had FOC tickets from the Dutch Lady milk promotion. By the time we entered Legoland, it was about 1 pm.

The weather was cooling with passing showers on and off throughout the day. However, the humidity level was so high that I could literally stick a small piece of paper on my sticky arm!

The rides were new, hence good but on a weekday, we were surprised that the queue for each ride was almost 45-60 minutes long. Papa and Uncle Alex had to strategized in queuing so that the children could play as many rides as possible, without having being caught in the torturous queue.

We did not manage to comb the whole theme park as the queuing and humidity were wearing us out. We exited Legoland at about 6+ pm and adjourned to Bukit Indah Aeon for dinner and grocery shopping.

Will we visit Legoland again, I think we would but we also hope that the Legoland Hotel would also speed up in their completion before 2014. I look forward to staying in the hotel for a night, if the price is right :)

What's for our next destination within Malaysia? Maybe KL for their Kidzania theme park. We have heard about that place, maybe we should give it a go in the next holiday. We shall see about it.

Waiting for Food...

What do we do when we're waiting for our food to come? :)

And when the food comes, what do we do? :)

The Million Dollar Bears

We went to the zoo this afternoon, hoping to visit the latest addition, Kai Kai and Jia Jia, the new foreign talents from China. To our dismay, the tickets to their enclosure were fully sold out for the day ! How disappointing. I always wonder why there is a need to sell a separate ticket of $5 for adults and $3 for children when the panda enclosure is clearly situated inside the zoo, unless it is a way for the zoo to recoup their yearly rental of $1 million dollars a year and to make more money out of it.

Unable to see the panda, the children were utterly disappointed. Rb whined for a panda plush toy but unfortunately for us, only the exclusive panda-selling shop sells all the panda merchandise and that shop is located inside the panda enclosure. Without the exclusive tickets, we definitely cannot buy the panda merchandise too! Another selling tactic? I bet!

Bearing no choice, we had to buy the panda plush toy from the shops outside the zoo, and I was glad we did that instead coz the panda in Kiddy Palace was only $24.90 instead of $29.90 in the zoo. To get even, Pb wanted a polar bear too.

So this is the result of today's zoo visit! At least the children were happy :) My Coach shades were broken and I saw a cheap pair that I liked in the zoo but I didn't even bear to spend $19.90 for myself... Sigh... So much for the kids ya! :p

Blessed Christmas 2012

The Greatest Gift is, The birth of Jesus, not the distraction of the Santa Claus figure or any of the presents.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NIV84)

This is the reason that Jesus came, to die on our behalf for our sins so that we can be in heaven with our Father after we have passed on. Thank God for your love for us and Your mercy upon all mankind! We are eternally grateful!
