The Alphabet Puzzle

Phoebe already knows her Alphabet since she was 24 months old. I got her an Infantino Alphabet train puzzle about 2 years back when she was only a few months old. I am glad to know that she is able to fix her Alphabet train puzzle independently now. We sat down together on Saturday morning to complete the puzzle. Phoebe is one girl who needs encouragement to finish off a task. Reuben also sat with us to cheer his jie jie on :)

Reuben is probably thinking,
"Hmm... Is this a piece of biscuit? Let me put it into my mouth to try."

SSO Babies' Proms

I managed to get 2 tickets for SSO Babies' Proms. It has been running for about 6 years and has received tremendous reviews. A bubbly 'Uncle Peter' will lead his young audience on an amazing and unforgettable musical adventure. It's so wildly popular that at least 99% of the tickets are sold by now. It's suitable for children 6 years and BELOW. Only Phoebe and I are going on the 5 Dec 2008 at 12.15 p.m. It'll be an outing just for the mommy and the little girl :) Phoebe loves music. This will give her an early start in classical music in this fun and interactive event. I'm very sure she'll enjoy herself :) We're so looking forward to the performances :)

It's Time To Vote

When shall we go to Jacob Ballas Children's Garden for Picnic ?

By the way, I've been there twice, once in the morning and the other, in the evening. Seems like the whole place is exposed to the morning sun, so it can be pretty hot and glaring. The evening was much cooler, thus more enjoyable. The place will close at 7 p.m. If we go in the evening at about 5 p.m. (after our babies' nap), we should have ample time to enjoy. We'll decide on the date and time first, then we'll decide on the finger food.

4 in a Bed Snuggling Up

It is bed time. Phoebe has her milk. Reuben is snuggling close to her. Every night, they'll sleep together with us. Yes, all 4 of us will squeeze in the King size bed. I know that child experts will wag their fingers disapprovingly but we feel that we're closely bonded, even in bed. Phoebe will say, "I want to touch mommy" and she'll grab my arms to fall asleep. Reuben is also sleeping beside me because I will let him latch on when he wakes up at night. I am sandwiched between them. Every morning, I will wake up with 2 little ones sleeping under my wings, making me feel like a mother hen. Haha. If they have super King size bed, we might consider getting it! :)

The Rainbow Fish

On Saturday night, we went to watch a theatre performance in Alliance Francaise Theatre with our neighbour. The little girls were very happy to watch another performance together. I forgot to bring my digital camera, so we didn't get to take any pictures :( The title of the performance was 'The Rainbow Fish'. It was very impressive as the whole performance was done in pitch darkness. Only special lights were used to luminate the fishes. There were songs and also quite heavy conversation between the characters in certain scenes. I was surprised that Phoebe was attentive throughout the performance and she understood the story well. She has learnt that it is good to share and if you're selfish, no fish (body) will like you. You will be sad and so will the fishes (people) around you.

At the end of the performance, everyone is given a box of biscuits with chocolate filling and shaped like a fish. We bought a T-shirt with a picture of the Rainbow fish for Phoebe :)

Roll dough Playdough

I thought that Playdough is a wonderful toy for a child. It will sharpen a child's fine motor skills through all the kneading, pinching and rolling. It also helps to develop her creativity by using the colourful dough to create different objects. It provides hours of fun play, as long as the child remains creative. Phoebe has a new set of playdough. She is able to make different types of fruit using the tools provided. She loves her new playdough :)

Favourite 4-Wheel Drive

This is Reuben's favourite 4-wheel drive. Whenever we go to my mom's place, he'll squeal in delight when his eyes are set on it. Sometimes Auntie Nia will push him around the house on it, which he loves very much. However, when the vehicle stops, he'll whine in displeasure. What a demanding baby.

My Lil Pretty Boy

Auntie Nia was rather mischievous. She took mama's head band and wore it on Reuben. We had a good laugh when we saw the pretty boy :)

Bonding Together

My sis and I were looked after separately (my sis - by maternal grandma, me - a nanny) for about 2-3 years. Hence we're not exactly the closest siblings. We do not share about our lives very much. I try to put Phoebe and Reuben together as much as possible because I want them to be bonded together since young. Phoebe addresses Reuben as 'little brother'or 'di-di' and she'll say things like, "Di-di Reuben cute / So cute, di-di." When they sleep, they will also sleep together on the same bed. Hopefully, they'll grow up to be each other's playmate and companion.
