Raise Your Glasses

It was just almost a year ago she changed her glasses and now she gave feedback that she couldn't see the words on the whiteboard clearly even though she was already sitting in row 3, counting from the front of the classroom. What's more alarming is the increment of 150 within a year! Sigh... She really must change her reading habit! God bless lil girl.

Preparing for Ballet Exam

It's that time of the year where my living room is being transformed into a dance studio. Pb practised her ballet steps while watching relevant video clips from You Tube. She needs to work on her leaps, not much time left. Just another week to go! :) God bless Pb! 加油!

All About Eating

All right! Admit it! My family loves to eat and we bond over food!! These photos are taken on different occasions but the common theme is all on food :) Thank God for blessing us with food! :) 

An Apology Letter

Lil boy looked sad when his papa picked him from school today. Upon probing, we discovered that his sharpener was confiscated by his form teacher because he was not attentive in class - sharpening his pencil while his teacher was talking. He told me that I have to write a letter to his teacher so that he can get his sharpener back. That was a rule set by his teacher since Term 1.

I asked him, "Hmm... Why should I apologise to your teacher when I didn't do anything wrong? It doesn't make sense to me. If you've done something wrong, you yourself need to write a letter to apologise to your teacher for your own wrongdoing. Not mommy. Eg if the police wants to catch you because you've committed a crime, mommy is not going to the jail on your behalf. You need to own up to your mistakes and take responsibility for it."

Though Rb is small in stature, his pride is huge! He refused to write his apology letter. I want to use this opportunity to break his pride and his self-inflating ego. I want him to grow up to be a responsible boy and not to pinpoint his finger at someone else at the first instance of trouble. I want him to learn to humble himself and apologise for his own mistake. I told him that I'll support him in the spelling of the words and if he writes his apology letter, mommy will support him by writing my version of the apology letter to accompany his. 

After counselling him for a while, he finally decided to pen his apology. It was a simple letter but I think it's a big lesson for him in many aspects! And as promised, I wrote my letter to his teacher and stapled both letters today. 

I'm v thankful to her for being a firm teacher in disciplining the boys. When a class is in order and when the boys' learning attitude is in placed, half of the battle is won as the boys would have learnt good values such as self control and respect :)

I thank God for giving my children great teachers! Thank God for his favour!!

Pb's P4 Athletics 2015

If even a chance, I would love to be a partial Stay-at-Home-Mom and volunteer in all my children's school events but given the situation now, we cannot really do that coz that would mean that our family lifestyle and expenses will have to be compromised. As it is now, I'm glad that I'm still able to manage work and family though occasionally I do struggle a little. 

I've only volunteered once in Pb's school and that was when she was in Primary 1 and her class had a sandwich party. It has been a long time and I've decided to volunteer for her P4 Athletics event. It was really a joy to see her being so happy to realise that mommy is volunteering. I told her a matter of factly that mommy had volunteered because I did it for her, so that I can see her in school and share her joy. She gave me the most precious and sweetest smile and said that she knew :)

Lil girl didn't sit coz she didn't want to dirty her pants. Haha :)

Committing the event to God and seeking God for protection and learning of sportsmanship. That's why I've always love Christian schools coz everything they do, they do it well for God. Their values are also based on God's teaching.
