Devotion Time

Last Thursday night, I was not well to do devotion with her. She took the initiative and did it by herself (with Abby listening) . We have been doing devotion together for many years, since she was about 7 years old. We try to be as regular as possible, though we do miss out on days, when they were tired or when we go on a holiday. We use different devotion books for Pb and Rb. Each of us will do devotion with 1 child, though they both always fight to do with me :) heehee. Hopefully this will continue for as long as we can :)

Abby's second birthday

7 January 2016 was Abby's 2nd birthday. We don't like to give her commercial treats coz we don't know what kind of chemical is inside the treats. We prefer to give Abby fresh fruit. On Abby's second birthday, pb and rb made a fruit salad treat of banana, papaya and apple for her. She polished it all down! We also bought her a new shirt and 2 new toys 😄 Happy birthday Abby and we love you. Thank you for bringing so much joy to us! 🎉

MOE Edusave Awards

As a mother, I rejoice with my children when they received the award. It is not only a recognition for their effort in trying their best, it is more so, a pat on my back, for my heartache and numerous hours of encouraging, consoling, cajoling, nagging, shouting and teaching. Though, many a times, righteously we say that, as long as they tried their best, nothing else matters. But inwardly, as a mother, more so as a teacher-mother, I do feel discouraged and disappointed when my children are not meeting my expectations. God knows that, I'm only human. He knows my heart. He knows my tears, my brokenness, He hears me when I sigh, cry and complain to Him. He comforts me NOW and not wait till I meet Him in  heaven. He gave my children the 2 awards, He gave them what they deserves but most importantly, He answered my prayer. I thank God for His faithfulness in me, I thank God for His love for my children. I know that He has plans for both of them and they will live to fulfill His destiny. All glory unto Him!

Papa mommy are so proud of you, our dearest Pb & Rb! :)

Haiku Poem : Morning

I'm v thankful that my girl is quite a creative writer. She's required to do a Haiku Poem on the topic morning and this is what she came up with :) Something I didn't think of :)

Bye bye Neighbour

After being neighbours for a decade, vera and clara had moved away during the Dec holidays. On the last night before moving away, the children got together to play. Vera and clara were not afraid of Abby anymore. Hope that they will meet nice new neighbours too!

Perperlu Collections

All thanks to Facebook, my Primary and Secondary friends are able to get in contact with each other after so many years. Once of them is Constance. We first reunite many years back via HRSS and I was a member. We lost contact for a while and yet, found each other again via Facebook. She started creating her own label for her handmade children clothes. We ordered from her coz we love the design. Look what she has sewn for pb and rb! The children loved it and so do I ! Thank you so much, Cons!!

Passport for toys

Having known that we will be going for a short trip with the grands in the December holidays, the 2 of them wanted to bring their toys along and they thoughtfully made passports for them. Haha! It was post exam and they do know how to assume themselves, with jiejie guiding didi in the creation :)

Blessed 10th Birthday

Time really flies sooo fast. My sweet's 10. We had the usual birthday celebration with the grands, and this time round, we went to Pizza Hut for a nice western dinner.

For her school celebration, we decided to make a small scale gathering for her, inviting just a few good friends for a home party. Initially we invited about 7 classmates but in the end, only 4 turned up (plus a brother) coz of the nearing year end exam. With the neighbour kids, it was a good 9 kids.

We got her 20 helium balloons and also played some traditional games. It was a party of many hours, initially 3-7 pm but all the parents pick up at 8 pm instead. Thus, they had maximum play time!

After the party, I was thoroughly exhausted as I only slept for 2 hours the night before, busy doing the last minute preparation. But it was all worth it coz I get to know her friends better and most importantly, Pb was v thankful and appreciative of my effort. I've wanted to bless her for her birthday but she has blessed me back.

I pray that there will be more years to come where she'll let me be involved in her party planning and we can continue to be involve in each other's lives! :)
