SKMCC's 10th Graduation Concert

27 October was SKMCC's 10th Graduation Concert. I have always enjoyed watching SKMCC's graduation concert. After watching it for three years - 2009, 2010, 2011, I kind of expected what would happen during the concert. However, this year's concert was more exciting and (in Gong-gong's words) more entertaining than previous year. Why ? It could be the choice of music used - the Chinese Classical Christian song, the Indian version of Hosanna and the Taiwanese tribal music, which were more appealing to the older generation. The concert was also bilingual and an hour longer than usual. At the end of the concert, the audience were treated to pre-packed sweet snacks. During the K2 graduation ceremony, I particularly liked the one-liner description of each graduand. The short description of the positive traits of each graduand had made the ceremony more personal to them. When the whole contigent of graduands marched in, my throat tightened and my eyes were welled with tears. I was very touched by God's work on these young minds. I could not imagine if Reuben was one of the graduands. I would have howled and applauded hysterically with a standing ovation! Haha!

Last year, Phoebe was chosen by her teacher to be the emcee. This year, we had anticipated anxiously for the concert since the beginning of Term 3. At Nursery level, Reuben was chosen by his teacher, Ms Seet, to be the Master of Ceremony!!! Wow!! Okay, okay. I'm exaggerating too much :) Reuben (and his classmate, Xin Hui) was selected by his form teacher, Ms Seet, to recite a short script to introduce his class performance. When Reuben recited his script on stage, I was filled with pride and gratefulness. I could utter no other words except, "My son! Praise God". Reuben stood on the stage and recited him speech with calmness, composure, clarity and confidence. He was outstanding and I admired his strength and stature in his small being.

In the Bible, John 10:9, Jesus said that He is the door for the sheep.
Whoever enters through Him, will be saved.

Not only was Reuben awesome in his speech, he was also great in his dance move. He had to dance to two songs, "One Door and Only One" and "Hosanna". He did his actions rhythmically, appropriately, precisely and responsibly. It was awesome watching him moving on the stage.

I am very thankful to the new principal, Mrs Gan, and all the teachers who have put in tremendous effort in making the 10th Graduation Concert a success. I'm grateful to all the teachers who have taught Reuben well, especially his form teacher, Ms Seet. Ms Seet came in 2012 as a new teacher. She brought along with her, rich and creative ideas which she has accumulated from her many years of pre-school teaching. Reuben mentioned to me that he loved going to school and that Ms Seet was very funny. I am thankful to Ms Seet for her patience in my boy.

As Reuben grows in maturity each day, I pray that God will continue to show Reuben favour and guide him in his character and spiritual growth. I have faith in Him that He, who has made Reuben and Phoebe, will make them beautiful in every way. Once again, I can only exclaim, "To God be the Glory! Praise Him!"

Rb's wonderful teacher, Ms Seet.

This year, Pb came as an audience.
