Phoebe's 7th Birthday Celebration @ Season's Park

Phoebe has always been quite a good girl - never really demand for anything and even when we buy things for Rb, she does not whine about it or throw tantrum. Throughout this year, she has also been very obedient and obliging, working hard in her school work for 1-2 hours each time and trying her best in her enrichment activities such as ballet and piano. When it was close to her birthday, Pb requested to have a birthday party and she hoped to invite a few of her classmates in 1 Joy (PLMGS)and friends. Naturally, as a mother, I would try to fulfill her wish, especially when she has been such  a good girl. I thought that 5 October 2012 (Friday) was a good date to have her party (though it was 20 days ahead) as it was also Children's Day holiday.

The standard of parties these days are getting very high. I've seen parties with Bouncy Castle, Music activities, Magic shows, indoor playground etc. I want to do something meaningful for her yet not too costly. Hence, after some liberation, I decided to do what I enjoy doing with the children most - Kids Cooking Workshop! To be exact, it's the making of non-baking Oreo Cheese Cake. Then ideas started pouring in :

What are little girls made of? Sugar and Spice and Everything nice.... "nice" rhymes with "mice" and mice likes cheese and we're making Oreo Cheese Cake and children usually loves Oreo.

Yes, everything started to string together! :)

With these ideas in mind, I needed a location. I needed a place which would allow me to do minimal cleaning, had air con and was spacious. So I thought about Aunty Linah and she was kind enough to rent her function room for us. Next, I needed to design a simple invitation letter according to the theme.

Everyone chipped in to help, even Gong gong and Mama. They were unable to attend the party because they had gone to Bangkok for their holiday on that morning. However, one day prior to the party, they went all the way to Chinatown buy the delicious Tim-sum for the party.

I had to prepare and apportion the ingredients one day in advance for their Oreo Cheese Cake making workshop.

To complete the cheesy theme, I also made Pb's birthday cake - Raspberry Cheese Cake and added an edible photograph of Pb.

The party ended at 3 p.m. I hope my little girl had a fabulous party and an enjoyable time. Thank you God for seeing Phoebe through these 7 years and may He continue to watch over this precious girl all the days of her life! To God be the Glory! :)
