Time flies! As rb progresses to violin preparatory class 2, he also needs to change his violin from size 1/8 to 1/4. We decided to trade in his Synwin violin and get another second hand one. I felt that a second hand violin is better because children tends to outgrow the violin fast and a second hand violin usually sounds better than a brand new one and if you happened to get one with the Dominant strings instead of the China strings as in the case of a new Synwin violin, then it is a bonus!
We managed to find one with used Dominant strings and all we had to top up was about S$105 after trading in. God is good! Now rb has to get use to the new size and practise hard for his next Master class in August 23 :)
Saying bye bye to his baby 1/8 violin. This will be his last shot with his first love! Rb was actually quite sad and wanted to keep his first violin.
Hello to new love. From now on, it's Rb and Ms 1/4.

Your Rb is born in the same year as my JR. Woah - he must be quite big-sized! Mine - his teacher just asked him to change to a 1/8th. My boy refused to have his 1/10th traded in. haha (not Synwin). So we have all of his 3 smaller violins (the 1st 2 very cheap ones lah). I was joking that maybe he wants to keep for my Grandchildren.
