Universal Studio of Singapore

USS has been opened for almost a year but we have not been there. Why ? Because it's too expensive and also the children could not take most of the rides. However, in end of May, there was a credit card promotion and we bought our USS tickets at 15% off, which is pretty good a deal. On that morning, the weather did not look very promising but we got Phoebe to pray. We always tell her that children's prayer are always the best because God loves the little children. True enough, the dark clouds were cleared and the weather was windy though still humid. Silly of us to go on a Saturday, knowing that weekends are peak periods but we did not want to take leave because we were tight on work schedule. For some of the rides, we had to queue for an hour plus! Nevertheless, we managed to catch all the shows / performances and had an enjoyable day :) Phoebe and Reuben were afraid of some of the rides, so I think we will not go to USS again in the near future until they are slightly older :)

Event : Phoebe and Reuben's Children Baptism

I used to think that the children can do their own baptism when they're adults because after all, Phoebe has already said her sinner's prayer on her fifth birthday. But after one particular speech by the pastor, the Holy Spirit convicted my heart. The pastor said, "If you as parents, are deciding for the children the school they are attending, why are you not deciding for them the (spiritual) path that they should go? Have you paused and asked your children if they wanted to go to this or that school ? Have you seek your children's opinion on what enrichment courses they want to take? If you know what is best for them, then why are you doubting the fact that our Father in heaven knows even much more what is BEST for them? Why are you not entrusting God to guide your children to their destinies?"

As parents, we have authority over our children. God has give us authority over our children. We're their earthly guardians. We should teach the children to follow Christ and to advocate the Christian values to them. If we're already putting them in Christian schools (Phoebe in SKMCC and Reuben will be in SKMCC next year too), then we must also allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in them, to guide and teach them to follow Christ.

I am convinced and convicted and I will do my part as the earthly parents, to teach the children to remain in Christ. After all, my children are gifts from God. They are God-sent. I should re-dedicate them back to God.

Into your hands, I commit again, with all I am, for You Lord... :)

After baptism, dunno why the children were very hungry! haha. They ate their sandwiches prepared by Aunty :)

Reuben's Mothers' Day Mini Concert

Time not flies but zooms!! It has been one year since reuben had his first mini Mothers' Day concert. I really appreciates events like this coz it's especially dedicated for mothers and I'm very blessed to be one. In another half a year's time, Reuben will graduate from this wonderful playschool, Little Learners and we have to bid farewell to the two wonderful teachers, Mrs Suppiah and Ting Lao Shi. I truely appreciate the dedications and patience that the teachers had.

In the mothers' day concert, the little ones sang 2 songs, one in English and the other in Chinese. They also had a hands-on fruit kebab session for mommy and child. Simple but ingenious idea! Its a special day for me and I thank God for giving me this priviledge!! :)
